The 19th regular session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, which is being held in Asuncion, Paraguay, passed the review on 4th Dec, 2024 and decided to add “Spring Festival – Chinese Social Practice of Celebrating the Traditional New Year” in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
So far, a total of 44 Chinese projects have been included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
